The Kröller-Müller Museum is the lifework of Helene Kröller-Müller. Between 1907 and 1922, she and her husband Anton Kröller bought almost 11,500 works of art, thereby accumulating one of the largest private collections of the twentieth century. The Kröller-Müller Museum first opened its doors on 13 July 1938.
